IN CONGRESS, July 4, 1776.

The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen United States of America,

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

      (In layman’s terms: it’s time to recall the redcoats —-we got it from here.)

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are

  1. Life,
  2. Liberty and
  3. the pursuit of Happiness. —

Only two men signed on July 4th the other 54 waited until August 2. Possibly because they knew they were pledging their lives, their liberty, and their fortunes and wanted their last summer with their families. You see they knew the joy of life and wanted to give it to others for generations to follow.

When in the Course of a boy’s life, it becomes necessary for that one to put away childish things that has kept him irresponsible, and to assume among others the powers of a man, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle him, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that he should declare the causes which impel him to that separation. (I Corinthians 13:11)

I hold these truths to be self-evident, that all boys/girls were created to become a man/woman, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights which must be stood for, that among these are

 

  1. Life,
  2. Liberty and
  3. the pursuit of Happiness.–

 

If you are to leave a legacy you must assume the responsibility of maturity, die to self, and live the Christ life for others.

England left America alone for several years and that allowed us to prosper. Then King George decided it was time to earn some taxes from America. America was founded for religious liberty with a goal of being separate from England. The major issue was freedom to educate their children.

England began slow at first then built up gradually to the point where they were charging 2% tax and that is when the people began grumbling. The Stamp Act is the proverbial straw that broke the Camel’s back and cause the people to rebel with the Boston Tea Party.

Just imagine if we only paid 2% tax.
